Humanities/CTF

On Monday, students will be presenting/sharing their "present" portion of their novel study to the class.  All other parts of their novel study were due today; however, students can still hand it in on Monday.

If any parents have magazines that are related to interior design that they would like to donate to my CTF class to be used for collages etc. I would be extremely thankful.

Reminder to students that Pink Shirt Day is on Wednesday, Feb 26th. Students are encouraged to wear pink to show their support for kindness.

Students will have an open book quiz on Friday. They need to ensure that they have completed their "cheat" sheet before then.

Novel study projects are due on Friday and can be handed in at any time between now and then. Monday students will be presenting their "present" portion of their project.

Current Event Presentations

Starting on March 6th, students will be completing another round of current events presentations. Students are required to find a news article from a reputable source from the week they are presenting. They need to provide a summary of the article. The importance of the article and how it relates to what they have learned this year or a previous year.

The schedule is posted in the classroom if students are unsure of the day they are presenting and will be reminded the week before their presentation.

Long Weekend

I hope everyone has a great long weekend. We are back to school on Tuesday, February 18th. I would like to remind students that they should have their novel read by the time they return on Tuesday.

Humanities Test

Students will have a test on Wednesday based on their notes for the Battle of the Continent. It will be a combination of multiple-choice, fill in the blanks and short answer.  If you have gone on a holiday this week we will find a time next week for you to complete the test.

Humanities

Students have been continuing to work on creating their board games to represent their battle for the continent. We are working towards completing them for next week for students to present them to each other.

Students should be starting to complete their novels and beginning their projects. If they are feeling a bit behind I have recommended that they should be reading at home as well. Our tentative due date for this project is March 6th.
